With power seat adjusters, the company is the European market leader. During the next few years, it intends to tap even further into the US and Asian markets. In the medium term, the company's aim is to gain a leading world market position in this product segment as well.
Brose is the world leader in motors for electronic braking systems (EBS), drive train actuators and cooling fan modules. We also number among the leading suppliers of HVAC blowers and electric steering systems.
E-Mobility
Early in 2011, Brose established a joint venture with SEW EURODRIVE GmbH & Co. KG, one of the leading suppliers for drive technology and automation. The goal of this joint venture is to develop and produce drives and charging technology for electric and hybrid vehicles.
This involves both companies pooling their technical expertise and experience from electric motor design, electronics and charging systems. This creates a unique combination of existing research and development know-how and manufacturing equipment available for electrical drive systems in the performance categories ranging from 0.25 to 150 kW.
In addition to the development and production of vehicle drives and their control electronics, Brose is are also exploring inductive charging technology to enable energy supply without a charging cable: convenient and innovative.
The newly-founded Brose-SEW joint venture is considerably more flexible than major competitors and can provide tailor-made solutions for our customers, ranging from individual components to the entire drive system including charging technology.
Since the joint venture can tap the know-how of the two parent companies Brose and SEW-EURODRIVE and access their production facilities, it can achieve additional economies of scale and cost benefits. One example is Brose-SEW's current new motor technology that operates without rare earth magnet materials and thus provides significant cost benefits.
